Big number update because terminology changed, and that’s significant enough to highlight! And some nice feature updates! More on the way soon.
- It has been brought to my attention that, while V8.6.3 (Sappy) is still technically in play test, it is also the only official Rules of Play right now, with parks required to use it and V8.5.3 essentially depreciated at this moment in time. Thus, I’ve tweaked language in the app a bit for this when making a build and when looking at V8.5.3 builds.
- Terminology stuff:
- In the future, I plan to use the term “Legacy” to refer to the last version of the game should there be a need or reason to ever keep the last version of a non-playtest Rules of Play in the app.
- But, for the time being, to clearly explain which rulebook a new player using the app should be looking at, I’ve chosen to use the word “Depreciated.” Should you not be a fan of the Playtest ruleset, know that this should not be seen as a negative term, I am just trying to make it clear to a newbie which list is current and what they should be studying.
- Likewise, I have still kept the term “Playtest” because, logistically, my understanding is that this is still in Playtest phase and I don’t want to make a statement it is official rules even if it is the currently only allowed ruleset. I think that, combined with “Depreciated,” this makes it intuitive enough to a new player which list is current.

- On the spell list side of things:
-
- When making a new build, V8.5.3 is now listed as Depreciated. Both new and old builds will also save as V8.5.3 (Depreciated).
- The default selected button is now Wizard Playtest, not Wizard (now Wizard Depreciated). (This app is made by a Wizard, thus the preferential reverse alphabetical order :P)

- On the martial class side of things:
- (Depreciated) has been added to the V8.5.3 lists.

New features!
- When leaving a spell list and returning to the menu, it will now highlight the last spell list you looked at. This is saved between sessions, too. This helps navigate the app a lot, and makes it faster to open the last build you looked at when loading the app! It also scrolls to be able to see the build if needed.
- It’ll also jump to a newly created or newly imported build, saving it as the new “last viewed”
- In spell lists, Level and Point adjustments have been split into two buttons, “Level+-” and “Points+-“. Also, you can now increase or decrease points and level multiple times in a row more quickly by pressing the applicable buttons that appear, and then close that popup with the “Close” button. Originally I was hesitant to allow this rapid increase or decrease because it is destructive to lists, but some changes have made it less so because lowering the level or bonus points will only mess-up your spell list when you actually load it and not when you change the level around on the main menu.
- In the spell list tracker mode in View, the buttons have changed to “*/Refresh” and “*/Life” to reset per refresh and per life abilities. This is to accommodate a game where a Refresh is called that does not also come with a respawn.
- On the spell list main menu, I added a smol little staff icon next to the Active Build tag (same as the bottom main navigation bar).
Bug fixes:
- Priest’s Heal had a point issue when loading the build, similar to the old one Ranger had. This has been corrected.
- Typo fixed for “Pheonix” Tears in Healer lists.
- Necromancer had an issue where abilities would stay chargable if you bought and then removed the archetype. This didn’t persist between spell list loads, but is still messy so it has been corrected (it was a single integer that was typo’d to not set it to 0 lol)
