This is a very exciting update that won’t really matter until *next* version. Following conversation over on the discord (find me there! https://discord.com/invite/UxzmRtWje9), I’ve added a simple html request to a file here on the server that checks against the app version.
- Android Only, because browser doesn’t need to be updated! If the latest version of the app on the server is newer than the one on your device, the app will give you a prompt each time you open it to go download the new version. The popup provides a direct link to the .apk, and a link to the apk’s info page because some devices security settings don’t like apps linking to .apk files.
- The default option is to get notifications for new main versions (the ones I post about here). On the settings page, you can change that to get notified for small revisions too.
- Also on the settings page, you can block update notifications entirely if you have some reason you need to do that.

- On the settings page on all platforms, the timestamp at the top has been reworked. It now shows the local app version timestamp (when I built the app files to then upload to the server) and also checks the server to see when files on the server were last modified, and reports it to the nearest hour.
- If you notice that the “Local version timestamp” is behind the “App files on server last modified” timestamp, there may be an update waiting for you if you restart the app. If it doesn’t prompt an update, you can still always update as usual at https://spellboundtome.com/seras-tome-apk/ if you want it right away (otherwise, it’ll prompt once I update the file that is checked for version updates–if this happens, you caught me mid uploads!)
