Out of Beta: Release launch, 2.0.0

My Amtgard spellbook app has been in a public beta development state for about a month now. At time of writing, I've poured around 500 hours total into this project before and after that beta launch, and I've made a ton of improvements in that time. It's got spell list builders, martial class calculators and information, a full spell book, review and reference materials, on-field spell tracking for backliners, incantation reference, flash cards, and more. It's been a lot of work, but enjoyable--I'm a Wizard main, and it feels very wizard-y to make a magic tome that contains all things…

2.8.2 – Couple fixes!

Elf Ranger spell list was adding Dervish from Kitsune. Fixed. Custom Incantation Target Practice for spell lists had breaking issue. Fixed. This is a fun feature I think has gone a bit unnoticed. In Spell Lists, hit Clipboard/Review, then in the bottom right the big Incantation Flashcard Review--it will pop a screen up with a target dummy for you to cast Verbal and Enchantment spells at, and has your actual spell list as the flash cards! Flashcards also had a breaking issue (they use the same scripts!). Fixed. Imp had a note error where the Charge x3 got removed--because of…

2.8.1 – Elf Ranger and Kitsune lists!

Elf Ranger and Kitsune may now set a spell list to then open it in edit/view mode, with all of their Monster abilities and purchased Magic User ones! Go to the Elf Ranger or Kitsune's page (Dor/Monster eye menu -> Tap the panel/name of the monster), then on the Magic User Ability line, hit Set List. Then, View List! You can select any spell list, not just Druid Level 2 for Elf Ranger or Wizard Level 2 for Kitsune. This is intentional to allow for homebrew. In spell lists in View mode, you can now toggle individual incantations by either…

2.8

Spellbound Tome is updated for Dor XI Draft 3 with the changes and new monsters!, Also useful for monsters in this release; You may now toggle searching within the text of monster pages/entries from the search bar in the monster tab! Want to know who gets Bow, or Heavy Thrown? Search it! In a recent update, searching within spell book entry text was added, and so now this was rolled-out to monsters!

2.6.5 – Custom Items in Search and QoL additions

Fun update with a bunch of quality of life features/tweaks! - Custom magical items and notes you create in the player Inventory (under the potion button in the main nav!) can now be searched in the Spellbook (The swirl button). You can easily toggle them off, too. This let's you, say, add all the relics for a kingdom's reign and easily look info up! All of them also support the recently added in-text searching toggle. - You can double tap the main navigation buttons (press while already on that tab) for spell lists, martial classes, and monsters, to re-open the…

2.6.4 – Dor XI Draft 2b!

Dor XI updated for Draft 2b! This is a very small draft update. Read about it in the doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GPkqrPQ9eAPjmJM7q2J-gTObwh17DCtkf7bs8vAIiJY/edit?usp=sharing A couple small tweaks, such as Small Shield being formatted as Shield, Small which isn't how it does lookups in my app so it was linking to the error tooltip for Healer and Bard pages.

2.6.3 – Updated for 8.7.0 release, Soupy!

Spellbound Tome is now updated for 8.7.0 release, Soupy! - Notice something I'm missing? Lemme know! My DMs always open for feedback, requests, and suggestions! Going to do a second pass once I have the line-by-line changelog. This is a nice time to remind that in Spellbound Tome, your spell lists are always safe between versions! In this case, there's no changes to Magic Users, but if there were, spell lists from older versions are upgraded to the current version, retaining every point they are able to and refunding what it couldn't. Also, I'd like to recap some of the…

2.6.2 – Pinch to Zoom tooltips, spell lists!

This release took a while due to lots of internal behind-the-scenes work and testing to prepare for the upcoming Google Android API changes/version updates. But, still have a feature release! New feature! Pinch zoom gesture on tooltip popups, and within Spell Lists for magic users. Both are on by default, and can be turned-off in the settings (wrench) menu. This allows, essentially, text resizing. I may expand this to other parts of the app eventually. Meta-Magic is no longer included in the new flashcard review feature within spell lists. Improved nested link behavior to be easier to click. Automaton had…

2.6.1 – Custom Notes/Magical Items for every list!

Two new features, and a couple improvements, too! Spell Lists may set specific Inventory/Notes! Player Inventory / Notes will still be able to be set to the ones you equip for all lists. But, additionally you can make a list of entries you want to show for specifically that list. (starting with just magic users for now, working on martial and monsters) This allows you to do complex things like make a list and then write notes about it on gameplan, strategies, information important for you to remember, whatever. Or can do things like if you have a wand that's…

2.6 – Nested Links, Optimizations, and Dor XI Proposal Draft 2!

A big new feature, an update for the Dor XI Proposal Draft 2, and optimizations particularly for app launching and theme changes! Nested Links! Click on terms/spells in a spell's tooltip to open the tooltip for that term/spell! Kind of like browsing links on a wiki. You can even back-up through each press. You can also use Android's navigation bar back button to go a link back. There is a setting in the settings menu to remember the scroll position you were at when you click a link and then hit back--enable this if you prefer that web-browser-like behavior! I'm…

2.5.2 – List naming improvements

For Spell Lists, you can now edit a spell list's name within Edit mode. You can still also change it by tapping the name in the menu. (This feature was a suggestion! Please always feel welcome to contact me via the info on the app's settings page (wrench icon)!) Added a friendly "?" Help button to Spell List Menu. More of these to come!
